1- I really can’t believe all of these bad ratings. This was a great kids Halloween film and it was actually scary in parts and I’m an adult. Marlon Wayans was great in the lead and had great chemistry with the actress who plays his daughter and of course his wife. Scenes with spiders and clowns literally were creepy. I jumped in several parts and was surprised by that given it is a children’s film. Those who are bashing it need to lighten up. What did you expect….an Oscar worthy film?

2- The movie was a good change of pace from the average Halloween movie. Spirit possesses a bunch of Halloween ornaments. It had a classic feel to it with a little bit updated special effects. It was mildly funny, but you could tell Marlon Wayans made it for his kids to see. I probably should have given this film an eight, but saw someone give it a bad rating for religious reasons. There was no religion really in it. Though the film is family friendly, it isn’t for younger viewer because some of the scenes may scare smaller children a bit. In the end it is definitely worth a watch and maybe a second to catch some things you missed on the first.
